Pierre-Marie Brisson
Date of birth : 1955
Country : france
French painter.
Brisson’s origins in a farming family and his childhood interest in archaeology left a lasting mark on the artist. A journey to Italy brought him in contact with Etruscan art. Jewellery, tombs and above all frescos influenced his work. The surface of his paintings is cracked, with bold but faded colours, blurred drawings that merge into the canvas.
His work is full of almost mythological figures and divinities of worshipped in nature. It sometimes seems to belong to a former period whose techniques are both rustic but refined. Traces of a spectacular civilisation that has disappeared, which have stood the test of time and demonstrate the timelessness of emotions common to all.
