Lives and works in Paris and Lausanne.
Though heir to the tradition of abstract painting, Stéphane Dafflon’s attitude towards it may be defined as rebellious. Working on a computer screen – his indispensable tool – he revises and reinterprets the visual language of his predecessors through the vocabulary of industrial design. Incorporating contemporary technology into his canvases, murals and sculptures made of wood, Plexiglas or stainless steel, he adapts the processes initiated by conceptual art to attain a highly individual form of Pop Abstraction.
