She lives and works in Paris. Ulla Von Brandenburg studied set design at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung art college in Karlsruhe, Germany. She also studied visual arts at the Hamburg School of Fine Arts. She was one of the four finalists for the 2016 Prix Marcel Duchamp.
Her work is characterised by the variety of mediums and formats she uses, transforming them into a complex theme with motifs appearing in different contexts. Her displays hark back to wall paintings and to designs themselves drawn from compositions in videos the artist recorded herself. The videos in turn serve as inspiration for future works.
