Technique: Oil on linen canvas
The oil paintings, sketches, assemblage sculptures, and photographs of Zander Blom are often described as “rebellious” and express a statement regarding his status in the history of modern and contemporary art.
He builds and deconstructs spaces in graphical and coloured compositions characterised by tension and ambivalence. Working with the materiality of painting and canvasses, he strives to achieve the right balance between control and chance, restraint and impulsiveness, simplicity and eccentricity.
