Iron, graphite, glass, water
Toshikatsu Endo uses water, dirt, fire, wood as symbols of natural cycles : life, death.
He uses the print of fire in a “sadistic and holy” way altogether. He takes old mortuary and holy rituals, and keeps the photographic traces of his igneous performances.
His views on Japan and industrial society are quite critical.
