He lives and works in Kinshasa. Houston Maludi began drawing at a very young age. He created his first drawings using watercolours he got from one of his uncle's houses and a piece of wood as a brush. He began studying at the School of Fine Arts in Kinshasa in 1993, graduating in 1997.
To him, art is a quest to discover the truth in the infinite nature of the universe – his surname, Maludi, means ‘truth’. His work has been attracting international attention for the past two years and has regularly been exhibited at international events since 2015.
