Born in 1960 in Sallanches (F). Lives and works in Lyon (F).
Since the beginning of the 1980s, Marc Desgrandchamps has been building works that are out of the ordinary. His work is representative of his beginnings (you can see the influence of founding painters of modern art, from Malevitch to Beckmann) and portrays subjects that are isolated and often in a time of crisis. Over the years, his work has evolved and become more complex, focusing particularly on landscapes with people. Bathing women, beach scenes, and towels floating in the breeze are all recurring themes in his work.
