Raul Illarramendi

Raul Illarramendi's illustrations invite us on a unique journey to a "non-subject". Abstraction as an image and process and an avoidance of representation provide the artist with endless explorations of "form". As such, his drawings are more like mechanical and conceptual paintings than drawings. The drawing is "forgotten" in two ways: technically, by polishing the surface in order to erase the pencil marks, and by the aesthetics of the final work.
