Born in 1993 in London, United Kingdom
After studies at the Duperré School in
Paris and at Central St Martins in London, Winnie Mo Rielly enrolled at the
Beaux-Arts de Paris where she lives and works. There, she was awarded the
Multimedia Prize. She is also the laureate of Chaumet’s Nature and Architecture
Prize (2019) and she presented her work in several group exhibitions in France
and in England. She did a performance at the Camden Art Center of London. Her
work mixes sculpture, photography, and performance. Focusing on the
complexities of the spaces we live in, she observes how bodies pile up in
confined spaces. It is from an “awkward proximity”, to quote the words of the
artist, that the feeling of intimacy of her installations comes from. Her
“Leaving Room” exhibition, an installation with a soundtrack, was turned into
an artist’s book.
