He erects a statute to a natural element, the tree. "I imagined it as a sort of relic, which will fall or which will remain. I liked playing on the notion of impossibility: it seems impossible that the structure will stay in place. The four mirrored sides evoke the cuts of the chainsaw", declares the artist, who is also inspired by the Broken Obelisk of Barnett Newman installed opposite the Rothko Chapel in Houston.
