Louis Jacquot uses various shapes and
materials to blur the borders between artworks and exhibition space, painting
and installation. Here, the abstract lines and the shades of blue play on
harmony and discrepancy to create a sense of ambiguity.
“Everything in the making of his paintings,
from the iconographic sampling of studio scenes to the minimal situation in
which he represents it through parallel perspectives, creates trouble between
the represented object and the space in which it is displayed,” remarks the
artist Dominique Figarella.
