Guangyi Wang first shot to fame with this Great Criticism series, commenced in the 1990s. He borrows Cultural Revolution propaganda posters and juxtaposes them with the world’s best-known consumer logos and luxury goods brands. Here, the famous “Unite the Proletarian Class” poster, representing the soldier, the farmer and the worker, now sings the praises of Armani, Carlsberg, Chanel, Coca-Cola, Dior, Disney, Ferrari, Gillette, Porsche and Rolex.
