Inspired
by the history of Societe Generale and her upbringing in Hong Kong, Elaine Chiu
proposed to create an imaginative landscape where different parts of the world
live well together. With this concept, she intends to invite viewers to take a
moment of reflection and ask themselves a question: where is home?
Growing
up in Hong Kong, a city that is built on different cultures, she often sees the
world as her home and vice versa, her home as the world. In her newly developed
series of paintings she aims to create a wonderland that combines iconic
elements of different cities representing various cultures, such as Hong Kong,
Shanghai, Osaka, London, Seoul or New York.
