Black-and-white photograph
Given the choice, Klavdij Sluban heads east: to the Balkans, Albania, Poland, Russia and Mongolia… For over 15 years he has explored these territories and brought back images of a world in motion, photographed while walking or through the window of a bus, train or the Trans-Siberian railway. His exclusive use of dense black and white has led the critics to nickname him “photography’s Soulages”.
